Service and other information for December 2025
and some advance notices for January 2026
December
On Saturdays 6th and 13th at 12:00noon in the church halls, the Saturday Lunch Club will be open. This is open to anyone and everyone.
On Sundays 7th, 14th and 21st, our Boys Brigade will be offering their annual Christmas Card delivery service at a cost of 40p per card. Please bring along your cards for delivery, with full address. Please note-only Neilston addresses. Any cards that cannot be delivered due to incomplete addresses or that are out with the village will be returned to the book board.
Second Sunday in Advent
Sunday 7th at 11:00am we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Sunday 7th is also the annual village Christmas Tree Lights Switch-on Event. There will be various stalls in the church halls from 3:00pm onwards where you can browse and buy some gift items, and we will be running our famous Hot Chocolate Stall once again. As always, volunteers will be needed for this!
Tuesday 9th December
Toddler Christmas party and final week. Everyone on the rota for toddlers is welcome to come along.
An evening communion service in the church at 7:00pm.
Wednesday 10th December
You are invited to a carol service in Barrhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church at 7:00pm. The Barrhead Burgh Band will be playing at this.
Third Sunday in Advent
Sunday 14th at 11:00am – join us for morning worship.
Sunday 14th at 3:00pm, we will be hosting a concert by the Renfrew Burgh Band in the church. Hot chocolate and Christmas treats will be available. There is no entry fee for the concert but there will be an opportunity to make a donation to support the band and the church. Come along and enjoy some seasonal music and singalong to favourite carols, and bring a friend!
Fourth Sunday in Advent
On Sunday 21st at 11:00am we have our Nativity Service. Come along to join in the Christmas Story once again.
On Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24th, we have:
5:00pm – Christingle Service in the church
11:30pm – Watchnight Service in the church
At the end of each of these Christmas Eve services, there will be an opportunity to make a donation to support the work of Accord Hospice.
On Christmas Day, Thursday 25th at 9:30am, please join us in the church for a short family service. Girls and boys, bring your toys!
On Sunday 28th at 11:00am we will be hosting a joint service in Neilston when we welcome our friends and neighbours from the Barrhead churches. This will be a Lesson and Carols service.
January 2026
H A P P Y N E W Y E A R!
Sunday 4th January, we meet at 11:00am for morning worship led by our minister Matthew.
Matthew will then be on annual leave from 08/01/2026 to 21/01/2026, returning to work on Thursday 22/01/2026.
During this time, pastoral cover will be provided by Rev. Tim Mineard, at Barrhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church.
On Sunday 11th January, our service at 11:00am will be led by
Mr John Spooner, Reader, Church of Scotland.
On Sunday 18th January our service at 11:00am will be led by
Rev. Ewan Ritchie.
