Church stained-glass windows.....

You might recall that earlier this year, one of our ancient arched stained-glass windows on the lower level of the church sustained signficant storm damage.

After a period of time it was removed to be repaired by a specialist company, and then recently reinstalled looking fantastic.

The majority of the cost of that work was met by an insurance claim but it was over £11,000.00.

Following on from that, and as part of our regular Quinquennial Inspection and Report on our property, several of the other stained-glass windows, both lower and upper level have been identified as needing significant repairs, partly due to their age and condition but also to help us keep the building wind and watertight.

Needless to say, this will be a substantial financial burden on the church and is just part of the ongoing issues we have experienced over recent years due to falling membership numbers, reduced regular income and increased costs for all our utilities, and other necessary repairs and maintenance.

In the coming weeks, we will be launching a necessary fundraising campaign to raise the much-needed money for this work.

Please watch this space and listen out for more information about this, but in the meantime, if you are able to and feel you would like to support this, please do let us know.

Thanks in advance for your support and care.
